PARTNER WITH US

  • A resource partner is an organization with a product or service that supports Black women’s healing, pleasure, rest, and/or well-being. Ideally, the product or service is available nationally or internationally and is easily accessible and affordable. A partnership might be structured in myriad ways. For example, a resource partner might make complimentary products available at film screenings. Or we might work together to raise funds for a service that Black women can access after they watch the film. Let’s talk! The benefit of becoming a resource partner is to increase the number of Black women who learn about, use, and affirm the partner’s product or service.

Examples: Therapy or coaching for Black women; meditation apps.

  • A solidarity partner is an organization that supports and amplifies the goals of Skylark: to shine a light on the weathering of Black women’s bodies due to racism-related stress; to disrupt sacrificial/martyr narratives that compromise the health and well-being of Black women; to inspire Black women to begin or deepen their healing journeys; and to shift cultural norms around Black women’s assumed labor. The benefit of becoming this kind of partner is to express solidarity with Black women and to bolster existing organizational efforts by pointing to the film’s key messages.

    Examples: Research organizations; advocacy organizations

  • A funding partner is an organization that provides financial resources to support the cost of producing Skylark and/or the costs associated with the film’s impact campaign. We have raised 80% of the budget to complete the film, and we are kicking off fundraising for the film’s impact campaign. The impact campaign budget includes resources to subsidize private community screenings that will take place all across the country and in a few key geographies internationally. This budget also includes allocations for personnel and consultants, travel costs, toolkits, educational guides, and screening guides. Funding partners can also join us in underwriting resources (see above) for audience members who screen the film.

  • A screening partner is an organization with a base of Black women and a mailing list that the partner is willing to use to send out invitations (no social media please) for a specific private film screening. Ideally this partner has an existing focus on Black women and has experience mobilizing Black women. A screening partner may contribute resources to enable a successful screening (e.g., space, speaker travel costs, food/beverages) or work jointly with the Skylark team to raise resources for the screening. The Skylark team may also have access to resources to support screenings. Private community screenings can be hosted online or in person both nationally and internationally, and a single screening may have multiple screening partners. Benefits of becoming a screening partner are to activate and support an organization’s membership and/or further base-building efforts.

Examples: Membership organizations; conferences; academic institutions
